All Souls' Church today. The corrogated metal 'Quonset' hut, so named after the area in Rhode Island where the buildings were first erected during WWII, was used for many years until it was replaced with the building above. The building now lays silent.

Both Mount Carmel and All Souls' Church were closed in 2008. The building is for sale.

Here is another comment from a classmate:

'I grew up on Richardson St. in Lakewood.  I have my First Communion picture taken at Mt. Carmel, which includes several of our classmates.  Times were simple then (I sound like my mother) and bread was only 10 cents.  I can remember my father laughing one day when the price of bread did rise, saying someday we will be paying a dollar.  I wonder if he knows the price today.  I remember when they started construction on the building as my folks were very much involved.  We are now of that generation when we can say, 'Life was simple back then - but life was good.  We had fun.'
