When we were in high school, most of us bought records and the place to buy records (and be able to listen to them before we bought them) was a Sammy Vincent's on North Street. A lot of our memories started in this store.

Sammy Vincent's closed many years ago and Sammy retired to FL. Sammy passed away a few days ago.

His store was a great meeting place on North Street (origionally on West St.).  My dad played in his band at the Wendell Hotel and elswhere for many years and bought me my first trumpet from Sammy. I still have many old LPs purchased there. Thanks for the information Ralph.
