Peter Fedoryshyn 1941 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Peter Fedoryshyn, 66, P.O. Box 437, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 31, 1941, the son of William and Anna Fedoryshyn, he was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing his education, he received his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1963. Mr. Fedoryshyn was employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools for 38 years, spending most of his career at Pittsfield High School in the math department, retiring in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman, an avid skier, and an accomplished woodworker. He was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers' Association and was at one time listed in 'Who's Who Among America's Teachers.' He and his wife, the former Marie Guertin, were married Feb. 15, 1982. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Christopher Fedoryshyn, a graduate student at American University in Washington, D.C., and two sisters, Nadia Cassady of Overland Park, Kan., and Dorothy Strand of Orange, Calif., as well as several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial followed in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. In keeping with his wishes, there were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to St. Charles Church or to the Audubon Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
