I was just wondering how many of your fathers, uncles or family friends were in the CCC. There were several companies around Berkshire County from 1934 to 1942. FDR started a this program as one way out of the recession of 1929 by using young, unemployed men to work the land and forest of the US.
My dad really enjoyed this time and compiled a black and white photographic album of his two years at Camp # 120 at October Mountain in Becket, MA.
Do you have any CCC pictures, artifacts or memorable from this period? Also just wondering how many of our fathers and uncles were in the CCC.
