The Clapp Memorial Chapel in Pittsfield Cemetery, shown above in 1911, was built in 1900 as a gift to the cemetery by Mrs. Edwin Clapp, in memory of her father, Calvin Martin, first president of the cemetery. Her daughter, [Mary Campbell Clapp] Mrs. Allen H. Bagg, later endowed the chapel with $10,000 for upkeep. It was designed by George Harding, and constructed by Dodge and Devanny.
