Scotty Safford says, 'I joined the US Army when I was 17 and by 21 had my active requirement satisfied. ....continued my association with the Army Reserve.  From '63 through 1970, I was a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Dix, then a First Sergeant.  Moved to Rochester in '74 as a Army NCO instructor, NCO Academy Commandant and made E-9 in '78.  Made CSM, five years as a detailed Inspector General and finished my Army service in 1991 at the end of the Gulf war in April.
