Originally known as the Berkshire County Home for Aged Women, Berkshire Place, now a retirement home for women at 89 South Street in Pittsfield, is shown above in the early 20th Century, 1911. It was designed in a Richardson Romanesque style by H. Neil Wilson, architect of the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge and the original Shadowbrook mansion in Lenox.
