610916 Classmate Lilia Canzano and the love of her life, Bernie Roberts, were married on September 16, 1961.

An article in the Eagle stated:

Bernie and Lilia Roberts of Lanesboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16.

Festivities to celebrate the anniversary began in August with a hot air balloon trip for their family. On their anniversary day they relived their honeymoon with a trip to New York City. They renewed their marriage vows on September 25th at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Cheshire, celebrated by Fr. David Raymond. There was a surprise par ty held in their honor on October 1st at Zucchini’s Restaurant in Pittsfield. The party was given by their their children, Tim and his wife, Nanci, of Lanesboro, and Gary of Anacortes, Washington, and attend ed by 80.

Mrs. Roberts, the former Lilia Canzano of Pittsfield, was employed as a hairstylist for many years.

Mr. Roberts retired in 1998 from General Dynamics.

They are both members of the ITAM Lodge and the Italian American Club in Pittsfield.
