My dad is doing great!! His next surgery that was scheduled for September 23rd was canceled due to his healing really well on his own. He has gained 26 lbs and is taking long walks and getting stronger and healthier every day. He won't be looking at another surgery for at least 3-6 months. They want him to be healed even more before they put his body through any more stress. He has finally settled into his new place and is very comfortable.
To the Class of 1957...Thank you all so much for your donations, calls, and kind words of encouragement. You guy are awesome!!! From class alone, he received $1,255 as well as gift cards. That speaks volumes!!! My father is still talking about how happy he was to think that the members of his class were so thoughtful and kind...but mostly the ones that he received checks from who said they didn't really know him but because he was a member of the class, they wanted to do something to help. Well, everyone's donation helped him out tremendously and we can't say thank you enough.
Thank you cards were sent out to everyone that we received something from. I apologize to anyone who hasn't received one. If they haven't received one, please let me know because I had help doing them and don't want to leave anyone out. You all deserve a personal thank you.
